The Keeper

I grew up watching Tales from the Crypt, and I adored everything about The Cryptkeeper, especially his witch like voice, done by the amazing John Kassir. He was frightening, hideous, and incredibly witty and funny. the perfect combination to terrify you and make you choke with laughter, all at the same time. And not only that, all of the stories (based around the original comicbook) were packed full of revenge, gore, sexuality, comedy, and wit.They opened my mind to what horror could really be, besides just a scare factor or gore, or some teenage girl getting hacked to death. In honor of this show and character, I decided to released a print so that we can all share our love for the fantastic Cryptkeeper.
I will also be releasing a bunch of things that honor some of my other favorite horror icons and characters. The next print release is based around Night of The Creeps, so stay tuned!

A guy named Lucas Baker just submitted this photo to me. He just got the CAVITYCOLORS brand eyescream logo tattooed on his arm. Fucking amazing, my fans are. ORLOCK!

I am releasing a new shirt next week called MIDNIGHT ORLOCK which is gonna suck you dry. Not in a sexual way, but, drain all of your blood away. I decided to tackle one of my favorite horror icons, one that actually scared the living shit out of me when I was a child. Even if there was no sound, you didn't have to hear the terror, you could see it in black and white. I decided to take that character, and do my version of him, and add a little bit of color (blood) and make it available to you to wear on your chest via my company CAVITYCOLORS.

Just finished up this commission painting to send off to Canada. It was a fun one.

"THE ABSORBER" - he arrived on earth from his cotton candy planet to absorb as many human souls as possible to return back home and harvest.

Drink and Doodle 19

It's that time again where we drink a few drinks and draw at a table together. Not me and you. Or maybe it is me and you? Well if it's both of us, then you'll be there already. But if not, here's the info so you can come out and watch us draw and make silly pictures.

The Box Monsters

Today, instead of releasing the kraken, which would be really cool and all, but instead, I am releasing another HUGE type of animal from the depths of the toxic tundra. It's the MUTANT MAMMOTH!

I thought to myself, "mammoths are already really cool looking and gigantic and furry and I would want to ride one through my neighborhood, but how can I make it look better than it already does? Oh ok, pretend it was fronzen and dug up from a tundra made entirely of toxic waste and slime! Ok!" Toxic waste makes everything better, maybe.

That's literally how my thought process worked for this piece.

Interviews are fun!

Haven't done one of these in awhile. Sometimes doing an interview sorta makes you cringe just a little bit at the thought of having to explain every aspect of your career, but this one was honestly sort of refreshing. Carly Beth and the Nightmares

When I was growing up, I would usually sit around and beg my mom and dad to take me to rent movies, and whenever we would get to the movie store, I'd run off straight to the horror section with all the VHS covers staring back at me, and i would look in amazement and drool over the artwork, covered in beasts and half naked women split open by a nightstalker. Horror has always fascinated me, even as a little dude. But when I got worn out from watching heads explode and monsters tearing teens apart in their basement, I'd read some amazing books called GOOSEBUMPS. It was a little lighter, and their wasn't really much gore or violence, it was mostly psychological, but you could easily relate to the situations the characters would be in, since most of the time, they were almost the same age as you. You could picture yourself doing some of the mischievous things they'd do. It was, and still is amazing.

The first one I ever got my claws on, was called THE HAUNTED MASK. And I immediately fell in love with the idea of a mask that completely tranformed you into a careless fiend in the night full of madness, and all you wanted to do was scare the living shit out of other kids. The idea of a mask controlling your, and turning you into something you weren't, fascinated me. I read it over and over again, and with the little money I had, got my hands on more of the books, and pretty soon, I had them all. Most of them are amazing, but the HAUNTED MASK still holds true as one of the funnest, and imaginative halloween adventure books of all time in my opinion. If you're 30 years old (or older) and you still haven't read it, DO SO, NOW. WHO cares if you're a dad, READ IT, then read it to your kids. Their in for a SCARE!

The point of this post is not only to share my love for this, and tell you why you should check it out if you somehow magically haven't yet, but to also share my tribute painting, CARLY BETH'S NIGHTMARE! I was asked by a friend to do my rendition of the book cover (which is below) and of course, I yelled FUCK YEA through facebook chat. This was so much fun, and hope I did the cover justice.

We've Got Issues - Color Ink Book group show

Sometimes, no matter how well you pack something and think it is safe from damage, UPS or Fedex will still manage to fuck the whole thing up. I recently sent off a drawing to WWA Gallery to be in the Color Ink Book show. It arrived, but the frame was shattered, and the glass scraped the artwork, so it wasn't very presentable. Luckily, i found out in time, I just overnighted a few more drawings back to California that are packed even MORE securely than the last. Wish them luck! Still super excited to be a part of this show.
